We all know the feeling! One sends a donation to a big charitable organization for a "good" cause, having no ideas what the money is going to be used for or how much of each Euro donated will actually reach a needy person. This leaves one with a queer feeling.

In regard to the actual costs of a project and the exact use of funds on location, many non-government charitable organizations suffer from chronic intransparency. Their costs are often further increased by immense sums spent on publicity and administration. Generally speaking, only two-thirds of funds donated are used for the intended purpose.
